This role contributes to the overall well-being of our residents by facilitating their mobility and engagement within the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to all components of the above position summary the following Essential Duties and Responsibilities are essential to successful performance in this position.
Safely operate facility vehicles to transport residents to appointments, outings, and activities, following established routes and schedules.
Aid residents getting in and out of vehicles, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Interact courteously and compassionately with residents, addressing their needs and concerns during transportation.
Maintain open communication with residents and staff, conveying relevant information as needed.
Conduct routine pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe and proper operation.
Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly and follow established protocols for vehicle maintenance.
Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and resident transport details.
Complete required documentation related to vehicle maintenance, incident reports, and resident interactions.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of residents, passengers, and fellow road users.
Follow company policies and procedures related to transportation services.
Foster a positive and respectful atmosphere during transportation, engaging residents in conversation and making them feel comfortable.
Always uphold resident privacy and confidentiality.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The incumbent in this position will directly supervise the entire Wellness staff.

Proficiency in operating various types of vehicles, including vans or buses used or transporting residents.
Knowledge of safety protocols for assisting seniors in and out of vehicles, including proper use of mobility aids.
Familiarity with local roads and routes to efficiently transport residents to appointments, outings, and activities.
Exceptional driving skills, with a clean driving record and the ability to prioritize safety for passengers and pedestrians.
Ability to engage empathetically with seniors, demonstrating patience and understanding during transportation.
Effective time management skills to adhere to transportation schedules and provide punctual service.
Respect for diverse cultural backgrounds and adaptability in providing personalized transportation services.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS At least 18 years of age.
Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.
Any special licenses, certifications, and certificates (First Aid/ CPR Certified) Special skills needed to meet client needs California Code of Regulations Sections:
85065(f)/87411(g) Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous driving experience, preferably in a customer service or transportation role.
Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends, as needed.
